What is a Rainbow Baby?
**To apply Baby Must Be Between 7 & 1o days of age for photos. You can apply prior to baby being born.**
A rainbow baby is a child born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss. This term is given to these babies because a rainbow typically follows a storm, giving us hope for the future!
This does not mean that what happened before the rainbow goes unnoticed and forgotten! This term has encouraged Mom’s and Dad’s to share their stories of loss, yet celebrate the new life and hope to follow. Also educating those that don’t know about rainbow babies. It’s like anything, the more people know about it, the more it is talked about and often that can be what the parents need.
According to statistics 1 in 4 pregnancies results in a miscarriage. This does not include stillbirth, neonatal death or other tragedies. It happens a lot more than we think!
One way that Hidden Jem Photography gives back is by gifting one family a month that has suffered such a loss a session.
What the session will include:
- up to 1.5 hours of studio photography time with baby only
- 2 rainbow setus designed by the photographer
- 4 high resolution digital images artistically edited (chosen by the photographer)
*session to take place in the studio only
